Review Text

This is probably the first art book I've bought ( and I've got lots!) where the author explains in plain language some finer but very important techniques in watercolour. He has a wonderful, lose style which should appeal to many.Very highly recommended.

This book is claimed to be one of the best-selling w/c colour books worldwide. It gives an excellent course in an agreeably looser style than many others. The advice on actual handling of brush & paint is better than most. The artist is a disciple of Ed. Whitney & it shows in his composition advice. My only reservations are:1]he bases his colour advice on the Munsell system instead of conventional colour circles,&2]he is strong in boats & seascapes, but short on panoramic landscapes. An excellent 'buy'.

This book has the clearest, most cheerfully written basic course in watercolors, from materials to design and color fundamentals clear through to vibrant techniques. Years ago when I was first starting, I lived with this book for 8 months. Now that I've found it again after more than a decade, I find it just as useful and wonderful as the first time. I highly recommend it.

Thankyou Love this book . I was recommended it ,by a fellow artist, to show a different style of painting. It definately meets my expectations. A very good and easy way to select and buy books and other products.
